Car air conditioning systems have almost the same components as a room AC. But since the car is smaller than a room, a lot of modifications have been made to it so that it can fit compactly in the space. The major components used in a car AC are:
The compressor of AC is known as Heart. This boosts the pressure of the refrigerant so that it can convert the vapor refrigerant into liquid refrigerant. The liquid refrigerant enables the overall flow of air through the condenser.
A condenser is a small device that controls condensation. When you want to set the car temperature lower or higher, the liquid refrigerant sent by the compressor has to counteract the convection force provided by the radiator fan or a separate fan. This force helps to control it.
The expansion valve facilitates the expansion of high pressure by sending low temperature liquid refrigerant through the condenser. As its name implies, it controls expansion and reduces pressure. Release pressure of the refrigerant before sending it to the evaporator.
The evaporator is placed behind the AC vent and resembles a heat exchanger. It takes the heat from the car and turns it into vapor and turns it into a liquid refrigerant. You can enjoy cooling through the fan inside the passenger section.
The orifice tube is in the shape of a cone and provides restriction in the flow of refrigerant. This allows the refrigerant to turn into a high-pressure liquid refrigerant mist before entering the evaporator.

The accumulator holds the refrigerant. This refrigerant removes moisture from the bag, dries it, and then circulates it inside the car.
The refrigerant has a low boiling point and is used by ACs as a heat exchange medium. It is in liquid form, so it becomes very easy to change the temperature through it. At low temperatures, the refrigerant turns into a gaseous form, while it remains a liquid at high temperatures.

Everything starts with the compressor. It compresses or compresses the refrigerant and converts it from its gaseous state into a liquid.
The compressed liquid refrigerant has to pass through certain tubes located in the condenser. Here the fresh air coming from outside comes in contact with the liquid refrigerant. The condenser contains a liquid with a high temperature and therefore a temperature gradient between the liquid and the fresh air. Afterwards, the heat escapes from the liquid and mixes with the air.
Then, the refrigerant goes into the receiver dryer or accumulator. The desiccant removes moisture from the air and refrigerant, creating a cooler refrigerant while maintaining the system.
The converted refrigerant will then go into the evaporator. Air from the car will be drawn into the evaporator and go inside the evaporator core. Still the temperature of the refrigerant is cool and it can convert the outside heat into cool air.
Fans near the passenger seat help blow cool air through the vents and keep the car temperature cool. This process also removes moisture from the air and allows you to enjoy fresh and dry air.
This hot and low-pressure gaseous refrigerant is recalculated and sent back to the compressor. This is how the new cycle goes on and you get cool, dry and fresh air.
